Beavers look to continue post-season run

Listen Live as the Beavers take on MS State at noon today on Fox Sports Radio 620.

Last Game
Matt Boyd was stellar, allowing four hits with 11 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout of Indiana Wednesday night in a 1-0 victory. Oregon State's lone run came in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Jake Rodriguez. Boyd improved to 11-4 this season.

Elimination Games
With the 1-0 win on Wednesday, the Beavers improved to 16-5 all-time under head coach Pat Casey in elimination games. The Beavers are 8-1 under Casey in such games in Omaha, winning their last eight. Oregon State will be visitors Friday and have won four of those eight games at the CWS as the visiting team.

Boyd's Masterful Night
No Oregon State play was born the last time a 1-0 game occurred at the College World Series, which was in 1985. The last nine-inning 1-0 game was in 1977 as the `85 game went 14 innings. There have now been just 18 1-0 games all-time at the College World Series.

Baseball Gods Liked Him Wednesday
When you're swinging a hot bat, the Baseball Gods are with you. Michael Conforto's seventh hit of the series was a bloop down the left field line Wednesday. He is 7-for-12 (.583) during the College World Series, with four doubles, giving him a slugging percentage of .917. He is 13-for-38 (.342) during the postseason.

Caught Stealings Adds Up
Oregon State has held opponents to just three stolen bases in nine attempts in the postseason after Indiana went 0-for-2 on Wednesday. Teams are just 23-for-55 (41.8 percent) on the year with Jake Rodriguez tossing out 22 of the 36 (61.1 percent) against him.
