An Oregon State Ppolice trooper stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer on Highway 101 near milepost 79 in Tillamook County after it passed another vehicle in a no passing zone marked with double solid center lines.Â
When the trooper went to give 20-year-old Austen Corno his ticket, he flashed a wad of cash Â and offered the trooper $360 to tear up the citation.
The trooper arrested Corno for Bribe Giving, a class B felony. Â According to the statute, "a person commits bribe giving if the person offers, confers or agrees to confer any pecuniary benefit upon a public servant with the intent to influence the public servants vote, opinion, judgment, action, decision or exercise of discretion in an official capacity."Â
Corno was transported to the Tillamook County Jail.Â
