Gresham resident Cory Robert Reed, 24, was arrested in connection with three recent armed robberies of Gresham area businesses: Starbucks, Orient Espresso, and Sidekicks Delicatessen. Officers and detectives contacted Reed near his father's home in the 3300 block of S.E. 1st Street, Gresham, where he was taken into custody without incident. Reed is lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on three counts of Robbery in the Second Degree. Reed's father, Robert Marion Reed, 52, was arrested for an unrelated warrant and also lodged in Multnomah County.
On July 13 at 8:04 p.m., Reed entered the Starbucks at 2233 N.E. Burnside Road where he displayed a small handgun and demanded an employee give him money from the cash register.
On July 14 at 1:59 p.m., Reed approached the Orient Espresso coffee stand at 3250 S.E. 11th Street and again demanded money from the register while he threatened the employee with a gun.
On July 17 at 10:28 p.m., Reed robbed Sidekicks Delicatessen, 1489 S.E. Hogan Road. He simulated having a gun in his right pocket and demanded the employee give him money.
In all three instances, Reed fled the scene before the police arrived. His robbery spree netted him less than $500.
