Head football coach arrested for theft

At the end of the 2013 school year,a student at Oregon City High School reported missing an expensive watch.  It was unique, because it had diamons encrusted in the face.

The watch was recently found at a Clackamas County pawn shop.  During the course of the investigation Oregon City Police learned Kevin Strasser was the suspect in the theft.  He was arrested at his house and charged with Theft 1 and Official Misconduct 1.  His bail is $15,000.

The school district released the following statement:

Kevin Strasser has worked for Oregon City School District since the fall of 2011 as a PE teacher and head football coach.

We are all shocked and saddened by this news. Oregon City School District expects all staff to uphold professional and moral standards of conduct both in the classroom and community. Anytime the actions of an educator may have betrayed the trust of our students and community, we are heartbroken.

Pending the outcome of this investigation, a substitute teacher will replace Mr. Strasser. Bruce Reece, the athletic director will be the acting head coach for the football team effective today.
