Shooting critically injures Vancouver man

A man was critically wounded in a shooting in Vancouver early Tuesday morning.  Around midnight, police were called to the 1,700 block of Norris Road on a report of a car that crashed into a fence.

Eric Blakemore tells KATU News that the car hit his fence and shook his entire house.  He outside and found the people in the car trying to backup and get away.  He went inside to call 911 and when he returned the car was there, but the people were gone.  Except for a man in the street who was unresponsive.  Police say the man had been shot and was critically injured.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team and the Safe Streets Task Force (gang unit) are investigating.
