The man accused of shooting a Vancouver Police Officer seven times, died Friday. On Thursday, Clark County Corrections Deputies caught James Sapp in the middle of a suicide attempt in his cell. Deputies intervened and called paramedics, who took him to a local hospital. He died from his injuries on Friday.
Officer Dustin Goudschaal pulled over Sapp's truck on June 30th, near Northeast 162nd Avenue and Northeast 34th Street. That is when Sapp fired a gun at Goudschaal, hitting him seven times. His ballistic vest took most of the impact. He was released from the hospital after just a few days.
