Saturday is one of the biggest games of the year for the Portland Timbers. They take on their rivals, the Seattle Sounders. That competition extends into the stands, between the teams' fans: The Timbers Army and the Emerald City Supporters. That makes Saturday the perfect game to collect donations for the victims of the Washington mudslide. Organizers say both teams' fans will want to out do each other, and that will equal overflowing donation buckets for the Red Cross. Timbers Army volunteers will be collecting the donations inside the gates of Saturday's game. It starts at noon, gates open at 10:30.
The mudslide last month in Snohomish County killed more than two dozen people. The large debris field is still being searched.
